I’m a free thinker

Who am I and what do I stand for? That is a question I ask myself when taking any stand on our current political situation in our country today.  I have multiple identities – each has its own perspective. If I call myself a common man, I make myself powerless and unexceptional. If I identify myself based on my religion, I’ll only limit my reality and I’ll become ethnocentric.  If I box myself as right, left or centrist – I become jingoist towards a political party or one ideology.  If I call myself ideological, I close the doors to diverse and critical thinking. My reality is beyond all this. Then who am I? If I have to give a name, I’ll call myself a ‘free-thinker’.  This identity helps me think beyond the conventional rational.  This helps me think beyond and see the higher meanings and viewpoint; it gives me clarity of what is right and wrong and helps me take responsibility to become the change.

I’m a free thinker

I think beyond government, media, religions and ideologies

I understand the paradox in my customs and beliefs

I use my mind without prejudice and fear

I think beyond and I’m a free thinker

I don’t hold our past responsible for our moral failings

I believe in critical habit of thought and improving

I trust the potential of our present intelligence and power

I think beyond and I’m a free thinker

I know the world is complex beyond my grasp

Hence I don’t limit myself within a box

There are unexplored options with no single answer

I think beyond and I’m a free thinker

My mind possess a million ideas

I’m not obsessed by a single idea

Ego and rules have no place in my philosophy

I think beyond and I’m a free thinker

Humanity guides me to think what is right

I understand and question traditional doctrines

I’m not a jingoist of any religion, political party or leader

I think beyond and I’m a free thinker

I don’t tolerate the general mass of evil and suffering

I am driven by sympathetic pain towards all human beings

In my imagination I see our society with high spiritual values

I think beyond and I’m a free thinker

I know my silence is dangerous

Being silent is a support to the conformists

My voice is an effort to create a progressive ripple

I think beyond and I’m a free thinker

I think of a world freed from the virulence of aggression

I want to achieve it through a debate than from disputation

I see a world where education is aimed at mental freedom

I think beyond and I’m a free thinker

I don’t believe in values laden with superficial & immediate benefits

I believe in substance, curiosity and intellectual discipline

I value responsibility, humility, integrity and perseverance

I think beyond and I’m a free thinker

I want to see a world where everyone grows freely, without hate, greed and envy

It is nourished by the strength of our democracy and diversity

Where critical debates are aimed to raise our consciousness

I think beyond and I’m a free thinker

In my world there is a space for every ideology

A room for every person who thinks differently

Our society capitalizes this medley & miscellany

I think beyond and I’m a free thinker

If you think like me then don’t feel alone

We can become a force to be reckoned

Let’s think, speak and act for a higher purpose

Together let’s think beyond and create a free world
